A World Within a World
When the familiar lakeside A-frame that anchors Ricker’s Resort was built in the 1960s, visible in the distance across Long Lake, the Ricker family painstakingly shaped what would become an eight-acre lakeside community. Every shoreline curve, garden path, and gathering space was thoughtfully imagined and brought to life.
From the beginning, there was a dream of extending the resort out onto the lake… and onto the island just beyond. But the opportunity never came. Pine Island remained privately owned. Quiet, untouched, and just out of reach.
As the next generation became stewards of Ricker’s Resort, tennis courts gave way to pickleball, open lawns evolved into beautiful gardens, and a community of families and friendships was carefully curated. Still, the island remained a mystery. A beautiful constant. Unreachable.
Until now.
Three generations later, a boy who once stood on these shores in the 1970s and 80s, fishing the island’s edge, imagining what might be…can now call Pine Island the crown jewel of the Ricker’s Resort legacy.
With Pine Island Retreat, Ricker’s Resort enters a new chapter. One rooted in the same values that have guided it for over sixty years. Our mission is simple: preserve the island’s natural beauty, protect the wildlife that calls it home, and make thoughtful, environmentally responsible improvements to ensure its magic endures.
From off-grid living enhancements to restoring old trails, caring for wild blueberry bushes, and protecting the shoreline, every step forward will be slow, sustainable, and in harmony with the land.
